Whether or not Disney’s mega popular show, Doc McStuffins, will be renewed for a fifth season is unknown. Either way, parents are not taking a chance. Under the leadership of TV host and comedian, W. Kamau Bell, parents are using social media to voice their anger over the show’s possible cancellation. W. Kamau Bell tweeted Friday, “Seriously, if you love DocMcStuffins as much as my family, tell@DisneyJunior to #RenewDocMcStuffins!” Using the hashtag, RenewDocMcStuffins, Twitter has been flooded with adorable images of kids adorned in Doc McStuffins attire from lab coats to toy stethoscopes to medical kits. Parents are sharing the specific ways the show has changed their children’s views on everything from doctor visits to careers for women. Here are some of our favorites.

The immense impact of Disney’s only African-American female lead character has led to crossover success and over $500 million in merchandise sales according to The New York Times. In each episode, stuffed animals come to life, and their ailments are cared for by the Doc herself.
As the mother of 2 daughters, I love the image of a young girl in science. Not only does my 3 year old daughter not fear the doctor due to the show’s use of medical lingo and scenarios, she thinks that a girl becoming a doctor is not a big deal. Other important images portrayed by Doc McStuffins include a stay-at-home dad, a mom who’s the doctor and a character with a real life job. CEOMOM is in full support of any children’s show that promotes the belief that a little girl can grow up to be whatever she wants, including a doctor and/or scientist.
Doc McStuffins’ fourth season begins July 30, 2016. We are all hoping that Disney hears the pleas of the parents and renews the show for a fifth season. Disney responded with the following tweet.
